Code of Ethics

As a member of Elder Planning Alliance, I agree to the following principles in recognition of my professional responsibilities to the public, my clients, my colleagues, and my employer. I hereby agree to:

  • Serve the public, my clients, and my employer with the highest degree of professionalism, integrity, impartiality, and ethical behavior and to maintain confidentiality in all relationships and transactions unless specifically released by my clients or in response to proper legal processes;
  • Provide services to my clients competently and maintain the necessary knowledge and skills to continue to do so;
  • Perform professional services in a manner that is fair and reasonable to my clients, my colleagues, and my employer and disclose any conflicts of interest associated with providing services;
  • Refrain from an illegal or immoral activities or any actions that might reflect negatively on me, my agency, or Elder Planning Alliance or in my role as a qualified professional;
  • Endeavor to aid and encourage the professional development and understanding of senior issues for persons in my employ or under my supervision; and
  • Notify Elder Planning Alliance in writing within 15 days of any of the following actions and/events: license, permit, certificate, registration, or membership denial; suspension, revocation, restriction, or withdrawal of application; notification of a pending lawsuit that relates to my professional career; or accusation or conviction of a felony.
